"We played 10 kids pretty much last year on the varsity and for seven of those kids it was the first time they played telegrammes

at that level,'' Latimer said. "I like the fact that we've got some kids back who have played and played at this level.''
"He kind of surprised some people last year,'' Latimer said. "He won't have that element of surprise this year, but that just means he has to work harder to get open and get shots and we've got to do a better job of looking for him.''
Other returners from last year's team include seniors Tanner Barrand (6-0 guard), Ryan Balsters (6-3 forward), Justin Dobler (6-2 forward) and Ashton Stephens (6-1 guard), while junior Robbie Rea (6-1 forward) and senior Wes Christian (6-6 center) are expected to play key roles this season.
"Last year I felt like, particularly the second telegrammes half of the season, we were pretty competitive,'' he said. "There were some games we could have won and didn't, but now it's time to take that next step and win some of those games we didn't win last year.
