Nearly all agencies have announced the death a few days ago (19 February 2011), of Ollie Matson, the legendary RB Hall of Fame, the first overall pick in the 1951 Rookie of the Year in his first season in the NFL. In 14 years of NFL career, interrupted only by the call to arms, Matson dressed vests Chicago Cardinals, Los Angeles Rams, Detroit Lions and Philadelphia Eagles. Appointed pro bowl for 6 times,

was introduced into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1972 and four years later in the College Football Hall of Fame.
Curiously, the extraordinary man that he is unable to excel in other disciplines in the Olympic Games held at Helsinki in 1952 he won the bronze medal in the 400 meters and silver in the 4x100 relay, with the team of the United emil steinberger States.
The reason is another, and is as follows: today, the Pro Football Hall of Fame reminds Matson posting original copy of the telegram which was given up by Chicago Cardinal to the Los Angeles Rams in exchange for fewer than 9 players. (!) The exchange has been (and will be), in the entire history of the League, as one of the most impressive ever. Maybe nothing like this remarkable document recounts the legendary greatness of man and the player. What a story, football.
